**This Is Not a Sermon ☕️✨**
My journey with coffee started in the most unexpected way—sneaking a sip from my dad's cup. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t love at first taste. In fact, I didn’t like it at all. But life has a funny way of bringing us back to things.
Years later, as an apprentice for Local 3, I was on a job site pulling telephone cable. My responsibility? Taking the morning coffee order and making a run to the corner coffee cart—the holy grail of NYC's morning brews. That’s when it happened: love at second sight. Coffee became my morning ritual, the warm embrace that kickstarted my day.
But coffee became so much more than just a morning pick-me-up. After my tonsil cancer diagnosis, it became my lifeline. During the grueling 3 1/2 months of radiation and chemotherapy, my daily coffee routine provided a sense of normalcy amidst chaos. It stabilized my mood and pulled me through the darkest moments when I felt like giving up.
Fast forward six years, and I faced another medical crisis due to radiation therapy—emergency procedures to place two stents in my carotid arteries. Through it all, I leaned on my beloved coffee routine once more. I can honestly say that it helped save me.
In honor of the incredible medical teams who supported me, we donate a portion of our proceeds to the nurses at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. With the love and support from fellow coffee enthusiasts, we hope to expand our efforts to benefit other medical institutions in the future.
So here’s to coffee—my companion through thick and thin. It’s not just a drink; it’s a reminder of resilience, connection, and gratitude. Join me in raising a cup to life, love, and the journey ahead!
