Coffee Blends || Gourmet vs Regular

Coffee Blends || Gourmet vs Regular

When it comes to coffee, not all blends are created equal. In fact, the quality and consistency of a cup of Joe can vary wildly depending on the beans used to make it, the roasting and grinding process, and how it is brewed. Many grocery store coffees use low-quality ingredients so that they can quickly mass-produce their product. At JavaBlu Coffee, we take a difference approach and only offer high-quality, gourmet coffee to our customers.

SIMPLY PUT, THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOURMET COFFEE AND REGULAR COFFEE IS THE BEANS USED TO MAKE IT.

THE TYPE OF BEAN USED FOR GOURMET COFFEE

Gourmet coffee is generally made from 100% Arabica beans, giving the brewed coffee a full body, fine aroma, and rich flavor. Regular coffees use Robusta beans, which are cheaper because they grow faster and are easier to produce. Unlike Arabica beans, which need a cool subtropical climate preferably in a high altitude to grow, Robusta beans can grow at low elevations and yield larger crops for growers.

Unfortunately, they also have a more bitter taste and inconsistent quality than Arabica beans. Some companies will use a mix of both types of coffee beans, but for a truly gourmet coffee experience, only 100% Arabica beans will do.

If you’re a coffee aficionado, these blends will elevate your coffee experience and take your tastebuds on a world tour.

GOURMET COFFEE PRIORITIZE FLAVORS TO CAFFEINE CONTENT

Another difference between regular and gourmet coffee is that Robusta coffees have more caffeine than those made from Arabica beans. For many people, this seems to be a benefit, but the highest level of caffeine affects the coffee’s acidity and makes it taste bitter. Add that to the fact that Arabica beans have 60% more lipids and nearly twice as much sugar as Robusta beans and it’s no wonder that we prefer the sweeter, smoother taste of gourmet coffee.

GOURMET COFFEE CAN BE MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS

From an environmental perspective, Arabica coffee beans are also far superior to Robusta. In general, farmers who plant Robusta beans use mono-cropping, a process where they plant the same crop in the same place over and over again. It involves clear-cutting forestland to make room for more crops, which can erode the soil and deplete it of its nutrients, making it unusable for future harvests.

At JavaBlu Coffee, we only supply the best coffee made from 100% Arabica beans. This way, our customers can be sure that they’re getting the best blends available, directly from regions worldwide. And by purchasing your gourmet coffee from us, you’re also helping small farmers who use sustainable methods for growing their crops continue to farm the land they love and pass on their traditions to the next generation.

There are many different varieties of coffee available in your local area and around the world, but if you want to experience the best blends, visit our website today and place your order. With just one sip, you’ll taste the difference.
